Syracuse- I personally beleive that Cuse is the best team in college basketball this year. They are very good all round and play great defense, they can shoot, and they can also beat you on this inside with Wesley Johnson and Rick Jackson. They are led by Senior Andy Rautins who is one of the best defenders in all of college basketball and he can also knock it down from the outside. Cuse plays in the Big Eas which is the best conference in college basketball hands down and they are the best team in the Big East. They are my choice to win the national championship. Here is Bobby Knights breakdown of the Cuse 2-3 zone http://coachingbetterbball.blogspot.com/2007/10/syracuse-2-3-zone.html
Kansas- The Jayhawks are a close second behind Syracuse in my opinion. They are led by senior point guard Sharon Collins who will probably be the player of the year in the Big 12, which is in most peoples opinion the second best conference in America. Cole Aldridge is one of the nations best shot blockers on the interior and he also averages 12 ppg for the Jayhawks. They have a lot of depth and can bring some seniors with experience off the bench. Also fresmen Xavier Henry is one of the nations best freshmen averaging around 14 ppg. I feel that they will go far in the tournament with their senior leadership.
Kentucky- In my opinion the Cats are the third best team in the nation but have a good shot at winning a national championship. They have the best starting five in college basketball hands down, and also the biggest starting five averaging 6"7. Their whole starting lineup will all eventually be playing in the NBA within the next year or two. Freshmen John wall who is the leading candidate for player of the year has led the cats to a two loss season so far. With Wall, Patrick Patterson, and Demarcus Cousins Kentucky is a very scary team and if the freshmen can play like hes been playing all year then they will have a good shot at the title.
Ohio State- The Buckeyes are my pick for the fourth best team in the nation and also the fourth number one seed in the tournament. They are led by Evan Turner who is also a candidate for player of the year. He almost single handedly has taken over games and put the team on his back. He is averaging nearly 20 ppg and no one in the country has been able to shut him down so far this year. When he is playing well and John Deibler is hitting from the outside the Buckeyes are a tough team to beat. In my opinion they are a sleeper number one seed but might have a chance at snatching it up with the loss of Robby Hummel Purdues star player.
